Placement process

Hiring for your summer needs is a simple, straight-forward process when you partner with AmeriCamp as your camp counselor sponsor. An AmeriCamp Account Manager works directly with you to determine how hiring J-1 participants can best fit within your camp organization and needs.

Determine your Placement Needs

Our placement team will work with you to understand your hiring needs and develop a roadmap for your international staff with AmeriCamp.

Recruit Qualified Candidates

Our network of global partners advertises and recruits talented candidates under a thorough screening process.

Match and Place

Your dedicated account manager will match incoming applicants with the positions you have available allowing you exclusive access to qualified candidates to interview and place.

Complete Final Paperwork

Once you have chosen your AmeriCamp counselors, we will work with you to ensure all required paperwork is provided before camp starts and that your travel-to-camp needs are confirmed.

Welcome your Employees!

We conduct pre-departure orientations and guide them through arrival.  After that, you'll have the opportunity to teach them all about your culture and introduce them to living in America!

Our fees are comprised of the following components:
  • Assistance and support from a designated Placement Manager in finding and placing staff
  • On-line camp portal with which you can hold, hire, and view staff
  • Thorough screening process for all participants by seasoned overseas partners
  • Pre-departure orientation for all participants
  • 24/7 emergency support during the summer season
  • Travel-to-camp support
  • Medical insurance for all participants for the duration of their program dates

* In order to request Direct applicants, AmeriCamp requires a minimum placement of five premium placed participants (those recruited and placed by AmeriCamp). This includes both Counselor and Support staff.

*The Premium Counselor Program is priced according to the level of expertise our candidates have.   For more information on the Premium Program, check out the Premium Program page

** Returning staff visas are limited and will be processed on a first-come/first-served basis.
